During this time, I also struggled with my weight and unhealthy eating habits. Like many people, I grew up believing the answer was to eat multiple meals a day. What I didn’t realize then was that our bodies are designed to do something incredible — heal and burn stored fat when given the opportunity.

Through the Intermittent Fasting lifestyle, I discovered the how and the why. After years of personal struggle, healing, and learning, I decided to share my story in my first book, From Bear to Barely There: My Healthy Weight Loss Journey. In it, I reveal the painful moment that changed my mindset about food and the methods that helped me reclaim my health through intermittent fasting.

Being called a “big black bear” became a turning point in my life. What once caused emotional pain eventually became the fuel that pushed me toward transformation.

But my journey didn’t end there.

As my body changed, so did my understanding of women’s health, metabolism, and the impact of menopause on weight loss. I realized many women over 40 were struggling with the same questions I once had.
